Swan Garnets v Spires. Tthe first quarter spires had the first centre so their attacking got off to a strong start. There wasn't many interceptions from either teams though. As the first quarter finished Spires were a few goals ahead of us.
In the second quarter, we were told we needed to use our bands and channels but also needed to use a change of direction which is inportant. The current centre was swapped to WA and the current sub was put into C. In this quarter, we were starting to use change of direction and bands a bit more which meant we started to catch up to Spires, in the score.
Half time, the WA came off and the current sub went on, also GK and GD were swapped. This was quite a good quarter as we began to catch up with Spire, the shooters began to shoot from anywhere in the circle long shoots and short and the goals we had 5 in a row.
In the final quarter, the scores were really tight and C went to WA, and sub went to C. The last quarter was very quick paced, and both teams started to get a bit aggressive. Spires scored an accidental goal from outside the D it didn't count but it put a smile on all our faces, unfortunatley our GD got injured, in a collision with her opposition resulting in time being called and our sub coming on. When play began again we started to slip away as Spires started intercepting the ball more. The end score was 25-20 to Spires. Our player of the match was Zara which was well deserved. In conclusion, it was good learning experience for the whole team well done girls.
