Topaz 36 - Matrix 25

Today Swan Topaz had their first match in the U13 South Region league against Team Matrix.
The girls were really excited to start their season and started the game with great energy and enthusiasm. They enjoyed a good first quarter winning 12-7, thanks in part to excellent shooting stats of 75% and some great mid court play. Defence was on great form too with 10 interceptions by the circle defence during the quarter.
The second quarter saw some changes and Team Matrix came back at Swan with both defence and attack fighting hard, unfortunately Matrix had the upper hand this time and Swan lost the quarter 12-6.
With just one goal between the two teams Swan really changed the tempo of the game and the third quarter again went Swans way. The girls showed great determination to get back on top and some brilliant turn overs led to far more shooting opportunities. Third quarter 7-2 to Swan.
In the final quarter Swan really found their stride, with the mid court players working hard to feed the ball in to the shooting circle and again some excellent shooting stats. Swan were rewarded for their hard work with a Final quarter winning 11-4.

Overall score 36-25 to Swan and a great start to the season.
