U12 Aqua beat Ravens 25-5

Conditions were chilly and damp as nine Aquas headed out to take on Ravens All Stars for the last (much-postponed) match of the winter season. Nonetheless the girls made their dominance almost immediately. Strong mid-court play kept the ball down in the Swan third most of the first half, with Emilia and Izzy potting 14 goals between them, while uncompromising defending from Zahra and Zofia held Ravens to just one. Perhaps this made us a little complacent, for in the third quarter Ravens fought back strongly, often catching our players on the back foot, and were rewarded with four goals to Aquas' three. However, it was too little too late, and in the fourth quarter Aquas were back on top - and fine attacking play from Freya, Bethany, and Charlotte in mid-court, key interceptions from Sophie and Zahra, finished off with Sienna's ever-excellent shooting, gave us an emphatic win. Well done all!
