Great Day in Sussex! Tournament Winners

The Rubies team of 7 players with the addition of Sarah from Crystals who came in at short notice travelled to Brighton on Sunday to play in the Sussex Netball Club Jnr Tournament.
We started off with a comfortable win over the Bobcats but after a very tight match closely lost to NRG Blues.
The girls picked themselves up and smashed the rest of their games, including beating NRG Blues 13-4 in their second meeting
Maddie and Lilla put some brilliant pressure on the shooters and managed to make some great interceptions. Daisy provided great support both in defence and bringing the ball up the court. Claudia, Ash and Sarah were excellent in the center court. Their drives onto the ball were well timed and positioned.
Grace and Sophie moved well around the circle and converted the team’s excellent play into a high number of goals in each game. Winning 7 out of 8 games convincingly, the girls were crowned tournament winners.

We met up with an old Swannie Georgie who kindly acted as our umpire for the day

We also presented the old Swan kit which had been collected to Natalie from "Kit out the Caribbean" ready for it to start its journey to the Caribbean.
