U14 Tournament Winners

What a day!

We cruised through our pool putting us into a good place for the semi finals.

We had 9 players so Freya had to do a lot of work at C for us, with some excellent shooting combinations between Skye, Gracie and Sophie, great defensive centre pass with Daisy, Maddie and Lilla working well together, and a welcome return to Alicia who had come back from injury.

Semi Final v Magnets Fire won 7 - 4
Final v Weston Park Blades won 5 - 4

In the semi finals we came up against Magnets Fire, and kept well to our game plan and pulled away with a 7- 4 win to find ourselves in the final with Weston.
Both teams were up for it, and Weston certainly brought their A game as we ended up 4-4 at the end of full time.
Daisy went over on her ankle and Claudia went in to help us out at C carrying an injury herself. Lots of players in different positions, and what a final we had. The game went into extra time (2 minutes each way) and by the end of the first half it was still 4-4, so essentially it was the next team to score!! Weston got the ball in their shooting end and missed, then the ball went down to our end and Sophie missed twice, then got an excellent rebound sinking the goal, with the hooter going 30 seconds after.

What a day, what a team. Very proud coach!
