Swan U19 away to Eagles

A strong start from Eagles in the first quarter saw us 7-2 down early on. It was a highly contested quarter and our shooters struggled to settle under pressure. The quarter ended 16-7.
Emily F and Eloisa came on in the second quarter and the score line was more balanced with turnovers being made by both sides. The first half finished 29-16 to Eagles.
Q3 saw more changes made and Swan got off to a flying start with a run of 5 unanswered goals. We continued strongly, Grace and Eloisa shooting at almost 100% and the team turning over ball in defence and mid court, winning the quarter 15-9 and brining the score back to 38-31.
The final quarter saw Hannah switch to defence and our shooters continuing good form forced Eagles to make more changes to their defence mid quarter. The team worked hard to mark tightly, forcing held ball and intercepted passes. We pulled the game back to within 1 goal, but were unable to take the lead and the game finished 45-42 to Eagles.
Great team effort to win the second half 26-16, with new combinations tried in a physical game.
