Hampshire 2 v Tongham Thunder

Match report:
This weekend Hants 2 played against Tongham Thunder and what a game!

The first quarter we took a strong lead, we had 7 goals on the board before the opposition got their first!
Our shooters dominated the D, this week’s training paid dividends with Mich’s strong holds and Emma’s well timed drives - providing Kat & Hayley with clear opportunities to feed the ball effectively.

Today saw Stace at GK, who was buzzing around like a little Bee confusing that space. Lots of good communication & working together with Bec as GD and Sar in WD. At times, Tongham had too much space and freedom to bring the ball down court, let’s continue to apply the pressure throughout court.

Q2 saw a couple of changes Jen to WD and Lucy to GA. Again lots of good stuff from both ends.
Attack: great feeds and fantastic shooting!
Defence: working together as a unit and turning over ball.
Tongham applied more pressure this Q and at times we needed someone to drive through the middle.

Q3 usually our wobbly quarter, not today!!! Everyone kept their heads and played hard.
Stace & Bec continued to work really well together, applying lots of pressure in the D, absolutely smashing it!! Jen and Kat were really patient if the first time ball wasn’t on and used top and pocket for Lucy and Emma to get into position.

Q4 Nic set us a target to reach 50…. Our shooters were on fire today…confidently scoring goals, many from mid/long range today, surpassing the target!!
Defensively the whole team continued to apply pressure, resulting in earlier turnovers often winning the ball back in the centre 3rd. If Tongham did sneak through; Bec & Stace were ready, they came off the body a lot more in this Q which worked really well.

From start to finish it was a great team performance, winning all 4 quarters!! Well done ladies, same again next time!
