Hampshire 2 vs Tongham Tornadoes

We started off strong in the first quarter, knowing that we had to play the ball around court due to the rain. Kat and Hayley’s great movement, with backup from Ali and Daisy, meant the ball was worked to circle edge. Accurate shooting form Claudia and Eloise saw the first quarter end 9-7, with us only 2 behind Tongham.
In the second quarter, forced passes and less defensive pressure throughout the court meant that Tongham pulled away, and the quarter ended 22-13. We went into the third quarter knowing we had to add more defensive pressure and go back to working the ball to circle edge before feeding into the circle.
In the third quarter, we worked really hard to implement our training into the game, pushing our opposition out wide and adding pressure to their play. Ali and Anna made loads of interceptions in the circle, as well as Daisy and Jen putting pressure on their players outside. Kat and Jen worked the ball to circle edge, and with some great shooting from Hayley and Claudia the quarter ended 28-19.
We started off the final quarter finding it more difficult to get the ball to circle edge as Tongham upped their defensive pressure. However, we didn’t let our heads go down and Anna and Ali continued to make loads of great interceptions. Ali, Stacey and Jen worked the ball down the court with great movement, and with excellent feeds into the circle the quarter ended 39-25.
