Hampshire 2’s first game of the season!

Our first game back since October and we definitely have shown how our training can be implemented into the game. We started off with a strong start in the first quarter, with great attacking movement, making it to circle edge and excellent feeds into the circle from Kat and Jen. Defensively we put pressure on all down the court and managed to make quite a few interceptions and turnovers in the defending circle from
Maz and Ali to end the first quarter winning - 12-4. Into the second quarter and attack were still creating space and able to get the ball into our shooters from the circle edge and some really nice play ending in another 12 goals this quarter. Defensively pressure all down the court made it difficult for Tongham to get to net resulting in only conceding 1 goal that quarter with Swan leading 24-5 at half time.
Into the third quarter which is normally our weak quarter but we continued to progress and everyone was working hard to create movement, sending accurate passes into the circle from Sarah and Stacey and pressure down the court from Daisy resulting in turnover. 12 was our lucky number and Claudia and Hayley were able to score another 12 to make it 36-8.
Final quarter and maybe fitness wasn’t quite where it should be and Tongham came out fighting into the last quarter making attack having to work harder about ball placement and defensively having to think about their movement but we kept our heads and patience and finished the game how we wanted.
For our first game back it was great to see our training over the past coming into force and seeing some really excellent Netball displayed!
