Hants 2 first friendly fixture!

It was Hants 2's first game back and we came in with a bang! We managed to lead Tongham Thunder by 1 for the first half with amazing defensive pressure and strong links through to attack with some great shooting too! Our coach made some smart tactical changes throughout the game whilst still managing to give everyone equal court time.

We know we are a team that takes a few minutes to settle into the game so we made sure we were patient with each other. Anna, Ali, Daisy, Maz and Jenny all forced turnovers and showed their skill bringing the ball down court to attack, using lots of front cuts and clear drives to the ball.

Claudia, Eloise, Kat and Jenny made sure to hit the circle edge and effectively used triangles to give the best option into the shooters. With two tall circle defenders, all shooters worked really hard to hold their space and give great options for the feeders and scored some excellent shots under pressure.

Playing outside is different to what we are used to and we took it in our stride throughout most of the game. We have clear objectives moving forward that we can take away from today's game in order to come back even stronger.

Despite the loss, we came away with our heads held high and proud at our team performance. I would personally like to say as Captain I continue to be so proud of this team and the maturity we show when we are playing. We are patient and encouraging of each other which only adds to the enjoyment of the game.
