Penultimate game for Hampshire 2

A tough well fought match that was tense to play and watch with some excellent skills from both teams.

In the first quarter, we started out strongly with great attacking drives from Jenny and Ella feeding the ball well into the shooters. Hayley and Claudia shot accurately especially against a tall and powerful defence. The quarter finished at 10-9 to us.

In the second quarter, saw us pull ahead as we built up our passes throughout the court following great interceptions from our defence Anna and Ali. Daisy came on at Wing Defence and added pressure and great interceptions. We finished the quarter 23-15 ahead.

In the third quarter, our confidence dipped and CN Select’s confidence grew with them winning the quarter and reducing our lead to 30-27. The team talk from Nic focused on being patient but keeping the ball moving.

In the the fourth quarter, Sophie and Kat made some great drives bringing the ball forward down the court. It was a nail-biting quarter and we fought until the last second with Daisy gaining an interception causing Claudia to have the winning goal. Final score was 39-38.
