Hants 2 v Hants 1

A great game against Swan Hants 1, both teams worked exceptionally well with a good contested game played.

The match started well with both strong defence and attack throughout court. Hants 1 put a lot of pressure on and made us play to high standards. Movement and ball placement allowed us to get the ball quick down court however centre passes came as struggle due to the strong defence of the other team.

Next quarter saw an increase in confidence for the shooters and more goals were put on the score board. With set goals by Nic, our team were determined to achieve the best we could and it was certainly shown on court. Once again, defence put on a great show with lots of tips in the defensive end and the score was 15-25 to the opposition at the end of the quarter.

Half time chat by Nic worked extremely well as we all came out fighting for the last half of the game, we put the pressure on which lead to the opposition making a few mistakes giving us full opportunity to score some goals. We ended up drawing the quarter 10-10 due to a fantastic attack down court and an easy ball into the shooters. Score going into the last quarter 25-35.

The last quarter was a fantastic fight for more goals, defence in the shooting circle as well as down court was amazing as lots of tips/interceptions were made. Pressure was on to try and lower the gap between scores and everyone's effort was 100%, the game ended with a 33-45 win to Hants 1, however we completed all our goals set be Nic so we felt like winners anyway. Overall a great game showing the talent within Swan.
