Swan 2 v Andover Arrows

This was a tough opposition for us but everyone fought well and played fantastic netball.

The first quarter was marked by some great attacking play with strong feeds into the D from Hayley and some excellent drives to circle edge from Ella. The shooters Clara and Claudia moved well and made it easy for the attack to feed the ball in. Defence worked hard and adapted to Andover’s shooters and turned over a lot of ball. By the end of the first quarter it was a close game and Arrows were 2 ahead.
The second quarter saw Jenny controlling centre court and making play flow. Defence Alison and Anna really rattled Andover’s shooters, with their fantastic communication and teamwork. Which then saw Maz, Jenny and Ella bring the ball down to the shooters.
The third quarter dipped and was more of a challenge with Andover beginning to pull away. The team talk from Nicola focused on patience and determination and not letting the score get to us.
The fourth quarter was a real fight back and saw many turnovers with defence working well to move the ball forward and Kat at WA ensured that the ball reached the D. The patience paid off with Swan winning the quarter and bring the final score to 38-48.
