Hants 2 vs CN Select

At the first centre pass both teams came out with speed. With the scoreline neck and neck, Swan began to put on a squeeze in defence, and started to force errors, gaining valuable turnovers which left the score after the first quarter at 17 - 10.
No changes were made after the first quarter, with Swan sticking to what was currently working like a well oiled machine. All the girls kept the squeeze on in defense, whilst showing great skill, patience and maturity to keep possession and bring the ball down the court and converting these opportunities. Swan held onto the lead with the score at halftime 27 - 21.
It was the third quarter when legs bean to tire, Nicola made some changes to keep fresh legs, and we started the third quarter as we had finished the first half, but we soon found it much harder to get the ball down the court, and into our shooters, as CN Select gained momentum and started to close in on our lead. With pressure high, we just hung into our lead at the end of the third quarter the score 36 - 33.
With the gap closed CN Select continued to build their momentum. We could feel the pressure of the game, and gave it our all to stay ahead, but unfortunately CN Select were able to just grasp victory with the final score at 45 - 41.
Everyone was gutted to have just lost our lead in the last quarter, but everyone played some superb netball and we will use this as a valuable learning experience.
