Hants 2 v Andover Arrows

Hants 2 stepped into their 4th match of the season a little tentative against a strong Andover Arrows team. Despite the first few minutes going goal for goal, the team let the Arrows get the bit between their teeth and run away with the lead in the first quarter, finishing 4-10 down. The second quarter saw the Swannies step up a gear and put the defensive pressure on scoring the first 3 goals of the quarter.
Some great defensive pressure from Ali, Anna and Hannah and some wonderful shooting from Claudia and Eloise saw them end the second quarter with a draw.
The third quarter saw a change of team with the Lawson sisters going into defence and proving to be a united force. The team took a few minutes to settle to the changes but soon they were on the attack again finishing the 3rd quarter 9 goals down. A couple more changes in the third quarter meant that the Hants 2 team came back fighting in an exhilarating last quarter. They scored 7 out of the first 8 goals and with Ella’s hard work feeding the ball to Hayley and Claudia to convert the turnovers they bought the game back to a 4 goal difference.

It was a BRILLIANT squad performance with intensity and passion by all players. Bring on the Arrows on our rematch after Christmas.
