Penultimate game for Swan 2

The game was strongly contested by both teams, with a score that didn’t reflect the work ethic or intensity from hants 2. We started the game with a strong defense down the whole court causing mistakes to be made my The Jets. The allowed us to play an effective attack into the D with some great shots from both Mantha and Zoe, working well together in the D. Ending the first quarter just 8 goals down. The girls kept working hard and supporting each other.
The Jets shooting combination was tough to break however the defensive unit of Lisa and Issie caused great pressure on the shooters, winning several rebounds and tips in the D. We managed to knock the confidence of the shooters with great vocal pressure from Hannah and Lucy as WD. Both teams caught the ball off court on several occasions, showing the intensity and speed of the game.
Jen, Hayley, and Isabella held up the centre court with great 1st stage defense to cause the mistakes to be made, allowing the defense to read the game and pick the interceptions. This is something we have been working on in training and it was great to see it being effective within game play.
Despite the score hants 2 work ethic was very positive throughout the entire game. They improved the score from the last time we played them and have taken a few more things away to work on at training. We also met both of our targets trying to score 40 (which we did!!) and this was also our highest score of the season! Secondly, to not let the Jets get to 70 - which we also did. Fantastic effort girls, now bring on the last game of the season!
