Match Report - 15th January

Last weekend, Swan Pearls travelled to play Eagles, determined to play their best despite losing to them earlier in the season.

From the start we knew that Eagles were formidable opponents, both teams worked very hard to score in the first quarter. Eagles pulled ahead as the quarter progressed, we lost Q1 22-5.

In the second quarter , Eagles consistently converted centerpasses to goals, despite all of Pearls’ best efforts. It was very hard to get past their defense while we were in attack, and the score at half time was 42-11 to Eagles.

Everyone worked incredibly hard in the third quarter, and despite the difference in score, everyone kept persevering, playing well to score more goals and turn over any possible balls. However, Eagles were consistently scoring from turnovers and centerpasses, and the score at the end of Q3 was 67-15.

With the scores being what they were, it was clear to everyone that we were not going to win, however as we went into the fourth quarter, no Pearl gave up, and thanks to brilliant centercourt efforts and amazing shooting from Immie and Beth, we scored 10 goals, more than we had in any other quarter.

The final score was 84-25, unfortunately not reflective of how well everyone played, but we were all very proud of the effort we put in to play such a strong oposition.
