Match Report: 27th November
Swan Pearls played NRG. It was a long trip to Worthing but everyone was excited to play.Due to Covid and illness we only had 8 players.
From the start we knew playing NRG would be tough match however we started out strong matching their goals and tying the first quarter 11-11.
In the second quarter we continued to play well with some excellent shooting from Immie and Beth, who stepped up end though she had not played in that position in a while. Although at the end of that quarter NRG started to pull away and the score was 27-24.
In the third quarter we got lots of turnovers and our defence were working really hard. Emma an U15, who helped with our shortage of players, worked very well with Izzy to put pressure on the ball to stop the other team. The score at end of this quarter was 41-33.
Going into the final quarter we were motivated but tired. Our team showed resilience and perseverance to push on and play our best. We got more turnovers and kept possession well resulting in us winning the final quarter and reducing the amount of goals between us and NRG. The final score was 51-45 and even though we didn’t win we felt proud of how we had worked as a team.
