Swan Pearls vs CD Phoenix 13.11.21

Today the Swan Pearls played CD Phoenix going into the game determined for a win.

In the first quarter, both teams started out quite strong but our attacking end was quite frantic. During the second half of the quarter, due to the combination of the good defense and lots of turnovers and the accurate shooting we began to pull away. At the end of the quarter the score was 12-4 to Swan.

Going into the second quarter, Jackie encouraged us to stay calm and look after the ball and we began to settle and play our game. Our defense was very effective, turning over almost everything, making the opposition’s attack extremely difficult for them. As well as this, there was decisive drives and good variety in movement from the shooters, and the feeds in were much improved. At the end of the quarter the score was 27-9 to Swan.

Entering the second half, we saw some positional changes, bringing on fresh legs which helped up the energy. CD phoenix came back fighting and got lots of turnovers but our defense were ready to go and put the pressure on. We saw fantastic drives, patient play and strong offers. Everyone in the team gave it everything and the support from the bench was incredible. At the end of the quarter it was 38-12 to Swan.

Going into the final quarter, everyone was motivated to finish the job. The circle feeders were very precise with their ball placement which along with confident shooting helped us get 10 goals in a row! With an amazing performance all round, the team finished the game with a well deserved 53-15 win! :)
