Match report for Pearls U16SR vs Woodley U16SR

Both teams started equally strong and played well. As a team we consistently pushed to win turnovers and take them to the goal, our centre court kept persevering when the opposition’s marking was intense, we kept our heads up and finished 13-11 down at the end of Q1.

In Q2 Woodley came out strong, our attacks were finding it hard to find space and get in front of their players, defensively we struggled to win the ball back but we still persevered . Towards the end of the quarter we got our rhythm back and goals and intercepts started to creep back in. Score for Q2 was 28-19 to Woodley.

Q3 saw some positional changes and we were a lot calmer going into the quarter. Woodley took the lead by 3 goals but we made up for it by getting 3 goals on the trot after. Towards the end of the quarter we put pressure on the opposition causing them to make some errors. Our turnovers helped us get closer to Woodley’s score but by the end of Q3 the score was 40-30 to Woodley.

Heading into the fourth and final quarter we were determined to keep going and fight back. Defensively we fought back and worked with each other to bring the ball to our circle edge. Both teams played a well fought game but unfortunately the game ended at 51-41 to Woodley.
