Swan U16SR Pearls versus Magic

This week the Pearls squad played their fourth game of the season against Magic.

A strong squad of 9 players took to the court with fire in their bellies after a one goal loss against Rushmoor the week before. We went out strong in the first Q and came out with a lead of 10-8. Knowing it was going to be a close game and that Magic would push for the win this Q we went out again after all important feedback from Jackie.

The second Q brought lots of turnovers from both the attacking and defensive end and we kept the lead by two goals at half time. In what was a very physically demanding game we kept strong and Immie and Alice (captain and vice captain) helped motivate the team going into what was going to be a tough second half.

Magic came out very strong in the second half and we began to tire, this lead to Magic winning the third quarter. However, this was only a two goal lead and we knew we had the stamina to close that gap in the last quarter. The final seven went out after taking on board feedback and being spurred on by the bench. The fourth quarter became very heated and turnovers were happening everywhere. After two injuries and different players subbing on, we played hard right to the end whistle but unfortunately the game finished with a win to Magic 38-37.
