Swan Pearls vs Eagles

The Pearls U16 SR team attended a match against eagles in places Eastleigh. We hadn’t played them in the qualifying tournament yet we knew we were up for a tough match.

From their warm up techniques, to their game morals, we were faced with a completely different netball game.

The first quarter came around and whilst we weren’t winning we still had the perseverance to keep on going. The attack got ball side and the defence jumped for high balls. It was a whole different aspect of the game seen.

The second quarter brought a new presence. The defence came off their players and the whole team was driving towards the ball when their was a turn over instead of running away from it.

After a good team talk at half time we all decided to use our relentless defence and putting our hands above the ball really put pressure on eagles for them to lose it and give it to us. Short passes around the D and drop balls helped the attacking players get the shots we needed.

Encouraging words from the bench really encouraged us to play our best and whilst we didn’t win, we came from the match with smiles on our faces, knowing that we had played our best and done each other proud.
