Swan v Andover Arrows

Our U16 Pearl had a home game against Andover Arrows today at Hamble Sports Complex - a new 'home' venue for us.

We were expecting a tough encounter, against a physical team, that had beaten us at the start of the season by 15 goals. Jackie spoke to the girls individually before the game with specific pointers and they took to the court with a clear plan. It showed! We started well scoring off our first centre pass and continued this with interceptions mid court which took us 5-0 up. Andover then settled and we went goal for goal but maintained this lead through the first quarter finishing it 15-9 ahead.
With the same 7 taking to court for the second quarter we continued to play well with Eloisa shooting at 86% and extended our lead to a comfortable 28-12. The girls made numerous interceptions which enabled us to take control and left the opposition chasing our lead.
Q3 saw some changes to the team, and they continued to play well ending the quarter 38-25 ahead.
In Q4 we extended our lead further with some fantastic long range shots and great interplay in the mid court between our defence who kept picking off interceptions and the attack. The game ended with a win to Swan 53-35.
