It was a strong performance from our U16 today which prompted the umpires and opposition to comment on how well the girls played and what a well contested game it was.
We got off to a good start scoring off the first two centre passes, and ended the first quarter down by just one goal, 13-14. Both teams made changes for the start of the second quarter which worked particularly well for Dreams and they moved ahead winning the quarter 17-8, giving them a lead of 10. We came back strongly after half time winning the quarter 13-8 (a score of 39-34 to Dreams).
With accurate shooting from both teams, and intercepts being made across the court, the final quarter was exciting. We brought the score back to within 2 goals with a strong passage of play, but a few rushed passes meant that our advantage was lost and Dreams were able to hold onto their lead with the final score 49-43 to Dreams.
We are improving with every game played and looking forward to the second half of the season.
Thank you to Amanda and Emma for our wonderfully catered first home tea!
