Closely fought games at Rushmoor Tournament

Swan Topaz were in pool B of the U13 section at the Rushmoor tournament and there was some strong competition.
Our first game was a local derby against WPB. It was an end to end affair, tied at half time, but WPB edged it by 1 to win 6-5.
We then had a win against Eagles 6-3, followed by a close game against Finchampstead. This again was a draw at half time, but a couple of small errors gave the opposition the advantage and they went on to win 9-7.
We met the eventual group winners next, Poole. They played a slick, physical game and won out 7-4.
A brief rain shower cleared up just ahead of our game v Waverley. Having been up 4-3 at half time, Waverley took the lead in the second half and held it to win 9-8.
The final 2 games of the day were strong performances from the girls and we won 9-3 v Newbury A and 3-1 v Magnets.

We didn't progress to the semi finals, but it was great to see the things worked on in training being put into practice.
