Swan Rubies (U14) lose to CD Phoenix 36 - 45

U14 rubies traveled to East Grinstead to play CD Phoenix. After a strong start in the first few minutes taking a 3 goal lead CD Phoenix then put together some great passages of play to lead 16-6 at the end of the quarter.
Second quarter was a complete turnaround with Rubies coming back strongly, defending really hard and winning the second quarter 11-8 and now 7 behind.
Third quarter continued in same vein and Rubies continued to fight back winning the 3rd quarter 11-10 and getting to within 4 goals of CD Phoenix mid way through.
The last quarter a few errors started to creep into our game as players started to tire and CD Phoenix pulled away to win the match by 9 goals. Some outstanding passages of play despite players playing out of position.
Well done ladies you were a pleasure to take and did Claire proud.
CD Phoenix player of the match was Skye and Rubies player of the match was Sophie.
