Ambers 52 Lymington 29

What a fabulous start to 2017! The girls came back from the Christmas break fully energised and pumped for their first match of the year. Ambers were strong from the start with great interceptions from Orla, strong marking from Anna, fearless attack and driving midfield from Ash and Ella with lovely movement and accurate shooting in the circle from Catherine and Clara. Ambers comfortably won the first quarter 13-6 setting the tone for the match.
A few team changes in the second quarter bought Claudia and Eloise in as GS and GA and Sarah as C. There was great teamwork, pressure and positive play throughout bringing the half term score to 29-13 to Ambers.
Lymington tried to raise their game in the third quarter, but were still no match for Ambers. And it was more of the same in the fourth quarter with Daisy relentless as WD, literally hunting down and intercepting the ball. Attack was strong midfield, with the ball passing seemingly effortlessly between the team – everyone was in the right place at the right time to get the ball to the circle for conversion and to win the match 52-29.
Coach, Lisa Henderson said, “It was a fantastic game to watch and I was just so impressed by every player and the quality of shooting by all four shooters was amazing.”
Lymington’s Player of the Match was Catherine. The Coach’s Player of the Match was Sarah for her interceptions and tireless work rate as WA and C.
Well done Ambers!
