Ambers 26 Dreams 32
Wow - what an exciting first match of the season! The Ambers had never played as a team before and so the first quarter was spent finding their feet and their confidence. Dreams were strong from the start ending the quarter winning 10-2. The girls picked themselves up in the second quarter, driving forward to get the ball to GS, Claudia, who scored four goals in quick succession. Passing was strong, defence was much better lead by GD, Daisy and the Ambers smashed the quarter winning it 10 goals to 3. The half time score was 12-13 to Dreams. With their new found confidence, the girls continued to play well with standout performances from Ella at WA and Ash at C, who were always in the right place at the right time. The girls won the third quarter 10 goals to 6 pushing them into the lead. Dreams really upped their game in the fourth quarter – dominating possession throughout, pulling it back to win the match 32 to 26. Coach, Jackie was so proud of every player with everyone having done what had been asked of them. Dreams’ Player of the Match was Orla, while Ella was the Coach’s Player of The Match. Well done girls!
