Swan v Shooting Stars
Swan SR 63 Vs Shooting Stars 44
This fixture saw the highly competitive game of netball in which Swan are usually the ones fighting to get ahead. However today was a different story. From the offset, Swan showed great patience and control through the court, with some fantastic attacking play, using the back up options and resetting to make the Shooting Star defence work.
Goal after goal, Swan saw an incredible lead take place, and interceptions galore from the defence in the first half helped to keep the accurate shooting stars combination from scoring. The first half had shown fluidity, strength and a superb show of character from all involved on the court.
In the second half with changes occuring, Swan were still able to maintain their focus, knowing that in previous seasons we were the ones usually on the back foot. Patience around the circle with some exceptional feeding into the circle leaving the shooter one on one, meant again Swan could remain calm and keep pushing on.
Shooting stars then put on some great defence which saw them putting on a zone through the court making it hard to pentetrate through the middle, but again Swan didn't panic, we resisted the urge to throw the long ball and played it patiently until the game opened up.
Defensively Swan were able to put on their press, maintain it throughout the court and in the defensive end Swan were able to pick up and hunt any long balls, loose balls and ultimately provided great pressure for Shooting Stars to create a turnover ball.
A fantastic win against a strong opponent and all the hard work in training has paid off.
