Another strong game for Hants 2

This fixture saw the top of the league Shooting Stars come to Southampton for another fierce battle against Hants 2. Our swannies started off strong rattling the Stars' attacking third causing them a lot of a loose balls, and with Swan gaining a lot of possession. Q1 ending 8-8. Q2 saw Stars starting to pull away slightly, but our girls kept fighting hard gaining lots of interceptions throughout finishing half time score at 21-13 to Stars. With the injection of height again in our shooting circle from Sonja, herself and Mantha shot some great goals with Kate Wiggins doing magic in the defense circle, putting serious pressure on their shooting circle. Q3 ended 34-20 to Stars. Our past games we have struggled to keep up the intensity within that quarter but the girls really pulled it out of the bag this week with everyone contributing, and digging deep to hunt for the ball and then have patience with one another to bring the ball down at a great pace. Special mention to Hannah whom gained some amazing interceptions which really rattled the Stars in their game. Scoring 11 goals in the last Q saw the scoreline finishing at 50-31 to Stars, however reflecting on the previous game against top of the table we managed to rob them of 12 goals and we scored another 1. Everyone was so pleased with the result, and it was arguably the best performance of our season so far. Well done girls - you should be hugely proud of yourselves!
